About

D.C.WHITE is a Japanese menswear brand born in Tokyo in 2016.

Its concept is to express Ivy style, the fashion culture that began on the East Coast of the United States, for the present day.

On the American East Coast in the 1950s, the clothes Ivy League students wore day to day carried rationality, intelligence, and a rough streak of defiance.

We carry that spirit forward and rebuild it for the way people live now, for the bodies and the silhouettes of now.

American traditional clothing that is not merely classic, but brought up to date.

We make it for grown men who take their days seriously.

The name "D.C.WHITE" is short for "District of Columbia WHITE".

As Columbus crossed from Europe to the American continent, the clothing culture of Europe crossed over as well and rose into a style of its own.

We took the land where that began and gave it the invented name "WHITE", meaning an honest, unclouded intent, and made it the name of the brand.

Revenue, profit, efficiency.

There are realities you have to face to keep an apparel business going.

Even so, we go on making things without losing that honest wish to make something good, the thing we call "WHITE".

That attitude is what the name holds.

Most items are made at trusted factories in Japan.

In each category we work with partners who have spent years on that one field, and every shirt and every pair of trousers is made that way.

The navy blazer that is our signature; the chinos and wool trousers the brand started from.

These and the rest of the D.C.WHITE line stand on the soundness of Japanese manufacturing.

Not showy decoration, but a make that settles into the body the longer it is worn.

Not something consumed by a trend, but a garment that works as the axis of a wardrobe.

That is the kind of clothing we are after.
