The starting point was a return to the commitment to cloth we set out with in the brand's earliest days.

This piece began from that confirmation: that for tailored clothing, the cloth is where everything starts.

The cloth is a Super 110's wool twill from Vitale Barberis Canonico.

A drape that falls supply with the movement of the body.

Smooth and easy against the skin, it wraps the lower body softly, like fine pyjamas, for all that it is a trouser.

And the weight is judged exactly.

A finer count would lose the steadiness of the cloth; a heavier build would cost it its grace. This sits precisely between the two.

The silhouette was drawn first of all to draw the most out of that cloth.

Ornament is held back, and the waist is built from a flat front and side adjusters.

Doing away with belt loops sharpens the waistline further.

Classic details were chosen to hold a clean, contemporary sense of ease inside the trouser.

A V-cut at the back, for comfort in wear.

The turn-ups are 4.5 cm, set a little deep so they hold their own against the silhouette.

The sewing is entrusted to a factory in Japan that specializes in dress slacks.

The precision at every stage is something you register more as you go on wearing them.

The experience and discipline D.C.WHITE has built up, and respect for the cloth. All of it lives in this trouser.
