Pennsylvania, in the eastern United States, is rich country ringed by deep forest and mountains, and its climate runs to opposites: bitter winters, humid summers.

Clothing for the people who live there has always been asked for durability and practicality.

“Pennsylvania” is an A-line coat that rebuilds that rational thinking with the precision of tailoring.

As the name suggests, the cloth is supplied by "Woolrich", the woolen mill founded in Pennsylvania in 1830.

Wool blended with nylon, supple and resilient at once, a tough cloth whose hand improves the longer it is worn.

A fly front keeps the silhouette clean, and the natural flare toward the hem draws a handsome drape on the body.

Inside, a padded quilted liner delivers warmth and structure together.

The liner works from within to hold up the A-line, and with the strength of the face cloth the silhouette seems to stand of its own accord.

The shoulders are drawn compact while the armholes keep room, balanced so it goes comfortably over a heavy knit or a jacket.

2 patterns: an oversized Black Watch that recalls the '90s, and glen plaid.

Both are emblems of the classic canon, finished here in a settled tone that belongs in a modern city.

Corduroy under the collar puts American ruggedness against a British background.

Two buttons at the cuff keep the wind out and let the silhouette be shaped by how they are fastened.

Every button is a dedicated part struck with an original stamp, a restrained mark of its own.

A zip pocket sits on the inside.

British in origin, taking in American rationality, "Pennsylvania" is exactly what its name says: a coat where tradition and use dissolve into each other, and the emblem of a D.C.WHITE winter.
