The name “REEFER” refers to the sailor who takes in the sails, raised here as an homage to the spirit of those who lived their lives at sea.

The cloth is a “double-face melton”, 2 meltons joined carefully by hand with binding thread.

Rather than the usual bonding, where heat and pressure fuse the layers, sparing neither time nor labor keeps the natural gloss and soft fall of the cloth and holds durability and a shaped form together.

The fullness and drape that come of a craftsman's stitching carry a depth machine work cannot reproduce.

The hem takes a river finish, the two cloths turned inward and sewn together by hand, which keeps the weight of face and back even and leaves a steady finish that will not roll to one side.
The craftsman's hand is alive in every part.

The silhouette carries room, with the balance at the shoulder and neck drawn precisely.
A structured, refined line that holds dignity inside a relaxed wear.

The wool-nylon cloth is light and still warm, so it stays comfortable over long hours.

On cost alone this method is no longer the mainstream, and the craftsmen who can build a hand-joined double face are fewer every year.
So production is limited to roughly 3 pieces a day, each made up with care.
A coat in which you can feel the warmth and precision of handwork that mass production never reaches.
Generous and practical at once: the winter masterpiece D.C.WHITE puts forward.
