Men standing on a breakwater by the sea, working without a word in the wind and the salt.

Their workwear: blunt, rational, and never without a certain dignity.

"Breakers" is a blouson made from the dress of those men by the water.

The name comes from the breakwater under their feet.

A chin strap; pockets set at the angle and height a hand goes into naturally. Not ornament, but details with reasons.

Details born of function are what give this jacket its presence.

The silhouette is boxy, with room through the chest and the armhole.

It holds air and reads relaxed, while the body length is kept a little short.

In denim terms, short enough that the leather patch and the top of a hidden back pocket just show.

Classic, and with a light, contemporary proportion built into it.

Against the preppy check, the cloth is a fine-count Italian cotton of real quality.

Densely woven, it carries a faint sheen and a supple drape, and shifts softly with movement.

The texture and mood that lift a rugged work blouson out of plain casual and into grown-up daily wear, stated with restraint.

The cuffs take a button adjustable in 2 positions.

Pleats at the back give freedom of movement and bring a natural shape to the back view.

Twine is enclosed in the hem along the zipper.
