Burlington, a city in Vermont, in the northeastern United States.

Known for its severe winters, and a town where vivid buildings and the colors of the landscape stand out against the snow.

That is where this jacket began.

Dependable warmth, and a color that only reads properly in winter: the spirit of Burlington, projected onto a garment.

The cloth is a blend of 73% wool, 20% nylon and 7% alpaca.

Wool leads, bringing the insulation and moisture absorption only a natural fiber offers, and carrying the comfort of the garment through the cold months.

The natural luster of the fiber gives the pattern depth and brings out the relief of the shaggy nap.

It also softens and settles the more it is worn, the hand deepening much like a vintage blanket.

Long alpaca fibers are added on top of that for a distinctive shaggy surface, an expression that looks as warm as it feels.

Nylon in the blend secures strength and lightness.

It resists abrasion and loss of shape and dries reasonably fast, so a traditional hand meets modern durability in a jacket you can rely on from daily wear to travel.

3 colorways.

The check built on vivid red stands out against a white winter landscape and gives an outfit a sharp accent.

The blue-based colorway holds a deeper composure, with yellow and white picked out to keep it light.

Olive is a well-proportioned pattern with a small streak of play in it.

Each carries real presence in winter styling, a jacket to build the season around.

5 buttons in total, including the chin strap. It can also be worn like a coverall.

The design takes a pattern long loved in American outdoor culture as its base, with work-derived details: leather-covered buttons, a chin strap, cuffed sleeves.

Proper tailoring is laid over that, so a garment made for the cold loses none of its refinement.

The silhouette carries a little ease, a modern relaxation, cut so it goes over a turtleneck, a shirt and a denim jacket without strain.

As suited to town as it is to travel in colder regions or a weekend away.

Warm and finely made, "Burlington" reflects the coexistence of function and refinement that cold country breeds, and brings real presence to a winter wardrobe.
