The name comes from "longshoreman", a word whose first recorded use can be traced to 1792.

It means a man who works the docks.

The silhouette is short in the body, with a roomy, boxy line.

Shouldering cargo, hauling rope, crossing a deck.

The construction recalls how a dock worker moves: nothing restricting the arms, a hem that stays out of the way of the work.

3-needle stitching, large patch pockets, cat's-eye buttons, and a stripe with real presence.

The detailing reads as work, yet something neat runs through it, and most of that comes from the cloth: an original 82% cotton, 18% linen fabric by Sidogras, based in Terrassa near Barcelona, Spain.

Slub yarn gives the surface its irregularity, and a natural fade that settles in over time.

The pattern is bold, but the coloring is fresh enough that none of it feels heavy.

The buttons are cat's-eye in white mother-of-pearl.

The workwear shape, cut directly from shell.

The design narrows to function and durability, a minimal construction with the waste stripped out.
