"Maine", the D.C.WHITE field jacket drawn from the wide country of the American state of Maine.

This model uses linen from Spence Bryson, who have held a Royal Warrant continuously since their founding in 1891.

What they supply is marked by a firmness and body that set it apart from ordinary linen.

The texture woven from the thick fibres particular to Irish linen builds a creasing of its own the more it is worn.

Most of all, the color.

Irish linen holds light so strongly because the very long, smooth fibres grown in a damp climate reflect it evenly.

Beyond that, the traditional beetling process raises the density of the cloth to its limit, and pectin, a natural component of the fibre, forms a protective film, which gives a silk-like depth of luster.

The turquoise reads like sea shifting with depth, and the light gray carries the clean, noble note of a pearl.

In its specification it traces the identity of "Maine".

The structural beauty of field wear fused with the shape of tailoring.

The 4 pockets and action pleats stay as they are, and the belt can be arranged to change the silhouette freely.

The lining is a butterfly lining. The sleeves are lined too, adjusted so that what is worn underneath does not catch on the character of the linen.

The colors chosen here are not the easy ones to wear, but the character of that color and the quality of the make meet at a high level, and the result is a jacket that will certainly stir the wish to own it.
