A nylon jacket rebuilt by D.C.WHITE from a present-day view, with campus life in the Ivy League of the 1960s in mind.
Something an Ivy Leaguer of the day might have picked off the rack at the campus store without thinking about it. From that story, the design was drawn around portability, versatility, and how easily it fits into ordinary days.
The cloth is a nylon that is light, resists creasing, and sits dry against the skin.
Thrown over a T-shirt or a sweat, and in deep winter worn under a coat or a jacket, it works right through the year.
Stuffed into a bag it keeps its shape, which makes it useful when the temperature turns while you are out.
The wide stripe that marks it is an homage to the vintage rugger shirt.
Bold, and with something familiar in it, so a minimal design still carries the character of the piece.
The sleeves and body have a measure of room, while the overall silhouette stays close to a box.
The waist drawcord adjusts freely.
Relaxed or sharp, depending on the mood of the day.
The practicality of 6 pockets in all is worth noting too.
Zip pockets at the chest and hips, and deep pockets inside, give it enough capacity that the jacket itself stands in for a bag.
That answers the way people want to travel light on a short trip out.
