"West Point Blazer", a D.C.WHITE signature.

The cloth is a cotton West Point twill planned and developed by D.C.WHITE.

A cloth with a history, used for the uniforms of the United States Military Academy, known as West Point, marked by the firmness of a densely woven twill and by real durability.

Military in origin, and lifted by a contemporary reading into refined everyday clothing.

Giving the navy more depth and a refined, restrained sheen holds the soft hand of a natural fibre and a composed face together.

The cloth softens over time and gains character with wear and washing: a jacket you can raise, the way you raise a pair of denim.

The photographs show the same piece after about 10 washes.

At the shoulder, instead of the usual open seam, stitching is set high on the body panel.

That draws a line that is structured and still naturally rounded, and gives a shaped fit along the shoulder.

Overall the fit is relaxed with a little room, and yet the fine rise of the collar along the neck and a slight suppression toward the waist hold on to the well-proportioned bearing a tailored jacket should have.

The back takes a hook vent, a classic detail, balancing mobility against traditional form.

The pockets are patch pockets, which give a workwear, casual impression.

It is free in how it can be worn: unforced and casual over denim or chinos, business casual with wool slacks and a shirt, and on to semi-formal occasions.

Starting from a classic background of military and trad, and adding a reading that fits the way people live now.

This jacket is the piece that stands for that idea at D.C.WHITE.
