A double-breasted version of the D.C.WHITE signature "West Point Blazer".

A jacket in a showy cloth like wool can be hard to reach for day to day. Using cotton West Point twill instead, "West Point Blazer Double Breasted" was made as a double-breasted blazer you can actually wear every day: a measured firmness and sheen, and a casual character that comes with age.

The armhole and chest are given enough room that a rough layer such as a T-shirt underneath looks right, while the line from shoulder through sleeve keeps its tailored beauty.

Double-breasted, and still a jacket you can pick up without bracing yourself.

The silhouette is drawn so as not to lose the refinement a double-breasted carries, and yet the shoulder is left unpadded for a natural line.

Using the weight and body particular to West Point twill, an original D.C.WHITE pattern and skilled hands make it easy to wear.

The gorge line is set slightly low and the V-zone kept narrow, which holds the elegance particular to a double-breasted while stopping short of formality.

The cloth is West Point twill, used for the officers' uniforms of the United States Military Academy.

It has none of wool's display, but keeps a deep sheen underneath, and its greatest appeal is the flavor it gains the more it is worn.

Setting the patch pockets closer to the side body panel gives the front dimension, and together with the graceful lapel roll that West Point twill emphasizes in a double-breasted, the quality states itself without display.

The buttons are original antique gold metal.

The oils of the fingers turn them to a deep, clouded amber, which with the fading and creasing of the West Point twill builds a vintage face.

The navy West Point twill in particular takes on a character of its own at the hem and around the elbow with wear and washing, fading toward white like a vintage chino.

To keep it as it is for longer, dry cleaning will hold the sheen of the cloth.

The body length is set a little short, which improves how it sits with casual bottoms such as denim or chinos.

Double-breasted can read as formal to some, but this one covers a wide range: office days, a day out at the weekend, and slightly more formal occasions.

"West Point Blazer Double Breasted" sits comfortably between casual and dress, and is worth a place in the wardrobe.
