A short-sleeve pullover shirt with a regular collar, in a linen-cotton check.

The sampling source is the smock worn by men working the docks and landings by the water (= wharf).

A feature born of a negative reason, saving even the trouble of doing up buttons, is now part of the design.

The cloth is a linen-cotton check.

Yarn-dyed first, then woven warp and weft to meet the pattern, which gives a mottled unevenness of its own, a sheen, and depth in the hand.

The cloth was made to D.C.WHITE's own order.

The chest pocket is matched to the pattern so closely it seems to disappear into it.

Open the buttons and the neckline turns open, close to a skipper collar.

A dry, easy hand that stays comfortable through the sweating months.
